message from the headteacherIf the country takes part in EU elections this year, the school has been chosen to be a polling station. In the event of these elections taking place, the school will be closed to children on 23rd May 2019. Thank you.
Year 6
Year 6 have settled very well into 2019, and shown how determined they are to learn and improve! We are looking at decimals and percentages in Numeracy, and although this can be a challenging area - i am delighted that in recent assessments the children have all shown progress. There has been a focus on linking their knowledge to make sense of new concepts - through diagrams, bar modelling and number lines.
PLease go to the e-bag and donwload the 15 in 1 Maths PDF as it contains links to a huge amount of support, questions, practice papers and more to help your child at home (including youtube links to support understanding). The password for these pages is 'hexagon6' all lower case.
In English - spag.com and readytheory.com have been used by children to learn independently. Areas they are unsure of are being searched online, and children are then applying this to specific questions.
In topic we are finishing our work on the Local Area where we have learned to use maps, sketches and fieldwork to enhance understanding of the world around us, and used online maps to find local landmarks and places.
Our new topic starts next week - Global Trade, where we will start at the Stone Age and look at how people trade - bringing us up to present day and look at changes in economic activity.

Finally, a big thank your for all the lovely gifts and cards myself and Miss Burney received at Christmas - they were very much appreciated.
