Year 6
Welcome to 2018!
We have come back to school full of enthusiasm and excitement at the thought of all the hard work that we will be tackling this term. Indeed, only this morning we took the 2017 Arithmetic SATS paper. We previously took this on the fist day back in September, and we were all over the moon to find the marks had improved significantly! Hard work really does pay off!
As well as the Maths and Literacy, we will be looking at Mapping and our Country/local area; We will be visited by a Scientist who will be running a workshop of practical activities based on how acids and alkali can be measured and mixed using a cabbage.

In Numeracy we will be learning about decimals and percentages and in literacy we will be focusing on The Jungle Book - taking inspiration for writing, art, dance and music.

If you would like to do some extra practice at home on spelling - there is a fantastic new App for Iphones/ipads only called 'Spelling Shed' (£2.99) or the website http://spellingframe.co.uk/ (free) which you may find helpful!

PLease note - the Maths SATs Practice resource in the E-Bag has been updated to include previous 2017 questions - please have a look as it is very helpful!!
