Year 6
The children in Year 6 are now in their final term at Primary School and we are busy getting ready for their transition to the next stage in their lives! They are learning that hard work gets results in our preparation for SATs, being given more responsibility within school, preparing for our residential trip, and making decisions on what we would like to learn more about during our final weeks. That is not even mentioning the Year 6 enterprise or school show!
MAths and English will continue daily, with a focus on application in real life, linking to our school activities.
Our Topic for Summer 1 is Rivers and Coasts.
Sats preparation:
There has been a focus on linking their knowledge to make sense of new concepts - through diagrams, bar modelling and number lines.
PLease go to the e-bag and donwload the 15 in 1 Maths PDF as it contains links to a huge amount of support, questions, practice papers and more to help your child at home (including youtube links to support understanding). The password for these pages is 'hexagon6' all lower case.
In English - spag.com and readytheory.com have been used by children to learn independently. Areas they are unsure of are being searched online, and children are then applying this to specific activities.

The Curriculum overview in the E-Bag will give a detailed breakdown of what we are covering this term.
